We’re honest, reliable and loving pet care professionals, servicing the UWS and UES of Manhattan.

Our Team is experienced in caring for all types of pets and breeds of dogs, and are carefully trained in safety and handling. We are pet people through and through and we love spending our days taking care of animals.

As pet sitters and dog walkers we take great care in being punctual, communicative and compassionate when it comes to caring for your pets.

Each member of The Perfect Pooch NYC has:

undergone at least 7 days of extensive in-field training at the start of their employment.

been thoroughly screened and reference checked.

completed an extensive online training program through Pet Care Team Training where they learn about animal behavior, safety, administering medication and the various types of walking and safety gear.

completed and received certification through ProPetHero’s “First Aid and CPR for Cats, Dogs and Similar Animals” course.

And EVERY team member at The Perfect Pooch NYC is fully bonded and insured.

Meet the Team

Leeland Allen

FOUNDER / CEO
Leeland founded The Perfect Pooch NYC in 2005, but has been caring for pets professionally since 2000. Taking care of animals is in her blood and she couldn’t imagine doing anything else. Expanding the company and taking on a team of like-minded professionals in 2016 has expanded Leeland’s interests into business, marketing and team leadership.
Franco Barbara

IT AND OPERATIONAL MANAGER
Franco is an IT wiz. His full-time career is at Mt. Sinai Hospital on the Upper East Side. But his love for animals (and Leeland) persuades him to spend all of his free time with The Perfect Pooch team.

GENERAL MANAGER
Hello! My name is Maya. I’m a Danish Native that’s been living in NYC since 2021. I’ve been surrounded by animals all of my life and I am so excited to work as Team Lead for The Perfect Pooch. The love and trust that animals provide is like no other, and I feel blessed to take care of them on a daily basis! In my spare time I love to dance to disco music, watch performances and exhibitions and eat good food with friends!

Hi, I'm Joy! Originally from Las Vegas but now embracing the energy of NYC, I have a passion for sustainibility and art that is channeled into creating sculptures and painting. I have grown up with animals my entire life and have a deep commitment to the love and care that goes into nurturing our furry friends.

PET CARETAKER
Hello, my name is José and I’m ageless (a very young 57 really). I’ve been working for the Perfect Pooch since fall of 2018. Before that I worked in the Hospitality Business. Back then all my friends and family knew to leave all their pets under my care whenever they went away because I just love animals but don’t have any of my own because I love to travel and spend time outdoors. These are the reasons that I love this job—I’m out all day with my beloved furry friends!

Hi, I'm Raeven! I've been walking dogs for over a year (and am specialized in caring for dogs with special needs). I love spending time with cats and dogs and giving out belly rubs. In my spare time I enjoy cooking or gaming.

Hi my name is Adrianna (She/Her/Hers)! I'm an easy going lover of nature, sightseeing, and creative projects. Getting to work with animals is the best part of my day because I’m able to connect with them on a deep level. Forming special bonds with so many animals is not something everyone can say they have! Outside of pet care I enjoy writing, acting, watching movies, and playing on my keyboard. Anything to get my creative juices flowing!

Hi, my name is Megan! I have loved and taken care of animals since I was a kid. They have always been such an important part of my life. As an adult I have had personal experience with my own dog and cats. Hi, I’m Fernando and I’m from Indianapolis, Indiana and a Virgo, I’m also the oldest of 7 so I carry a heavy big brother energy. I come from a family of animal lovers. We grew up with several little dogs around as well as parrots, turtles, bunnies, and fish!!

I grew up with all kinds of animals and have a deep love for pets, arts, and nature! When I’m not working at the Perfect Pooch I’m either at my second job Trader Joe’s or spending time with friends and family.

Hello I’m Wisteria. I have been taking care of animals professionally for 10 years. I have had many pets through my life and I’m super excited to take care of all your fur babies with perfect pooch. When I’m not taking care of dogs I am out exploring the city and going to concerts doing photography for local artists.

Hi! My name is Kelsey and I love caring for animals of all kinds! Over the past decade I have worked with rescue groups and fostered dozens of dogs and cats (and kept a few!) I have been a pet sitter and walker for several years in both Los Angeles and New York. I currently live in UWS Manhattan with my husband, two spoiled dogs, and exceptionally spoiled cat. Both my husband and I are musicians working on numerous projects and occasionally performing for our captive animal audience.
